A RECORD REVENUR.

The ACTING COLONIAL SECRETARY -I have the honor to lay up in the table the followi g documents --A latter from the Colonial Suerotary to the farbar Mister, a financial statement for 1894 and a statement showing the total revenue and expenditure for 1894 In laying this statement upon the table I should like to o the attention of hou, mbars of the Council to be fact that the revenge for 1894 amounted to $33, 87.203,32, which I bljove is the Turzust revenue ever collecte l in this clony- (applause) and this collection was made notwith- stuiding the serious epidemic of plazus which visited the colony last year. I also lay on the tabla the report of the Captain Superintendent of Pulice for 1891.

FINANCIAL MINUTES

The ACTING COLONIAL SECRETARY-I have the bune to by apa the table financial minutes 5 and 6 nod to move that they be re- ferred to th Finance Committee, a mesting of which will be held immediately after the Couusil, I have the honour to bring up the report of the Vinmos Conmittee hold on the 26th ult, and move ita aption.

THE SANITARY BOARD'S BY-LAWS.

The ACTIN COLONIAL SECRETARY-It bad heen my attention to myva to-day the adoption by this Conseil of certain by-lawa made by the anitary Bard, but a letter has haon, received from tha hon, unoffisial maubie opposita (fou, |J. J. K swick) requesting that consideration of the by-laws my by deferved, and the Government, in view of this communication, has consented to delay. I am, how war, to point out that it is highly important that these by-laws should be | adopted an i pasand with as little d·lay as poast- ble, as they involve matters of great importance to the health of this colony, and the Govern- iment recrata there should be any further delay. Hon. J. J. KESWICK-I bare to thank you for postponing these by-laws for another op- portunity f considering them. They were | delivered to us na Saturday afternoon and the next day being Sunday there was very little time For consideration. My reason for asking for the postponement of their consideratior is that there ace several olauses in them which I am satisfied on further ownsideration it would be usesssary to alter. (Applause).

CARRIAGE OF DEADLY WEAPONS.

The Aoring AT ORNEY GENERAL moved the first reading of a Bill untitled " An Ordinance to amand and consolidate the law relating to the curriage and possession of deadly weapons."

THE KEPEAL OF ORDINANCES. Tho ACTING ATTORNEY GENERAL, moved the first reading of a bill entitled "An Ordinance to declare the effect of Ordinanc repealing others." The subjet, he said, was a dry one, and th object was shortly to pass a general on acfmaut as to the affef of the repeals which will reader it unsary for the Government in drafting other Bilis to fake intu consideration the effect of these ropeals. Very nice questions arose when one Ordinanos was repealed which it-. sif repealed another.

The report is not yet com- pleted, but it is approaching completion, and, as I have said, unofficial members will be given copies of the report. I hope you will consider that satisfactory.

Hou. E. R BELILI08-Apparently we have funds to vote this sum. Will you kindly tell us what purse it comes out of?

The ACTING COLONIAL SECRETARY--It will! come out of only one purse of course-the rate. payers' pocket. It is proposed to pay the money out of the balances and later on, if it is found necessary, to have an overdraft ou the Crown Agents, but the Treasurer will inform you more in detail perhaps than I am able to tell you.
